05/09 - Friday FORMER DIXIE STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP -If you attended Dixie School and are graduating this year and plan to continue your educaiton, you may apply for the Dixie PTA Scholarship. You may pick up an application from Mrs. Ruecker or contact Robert Johnson at 525-5339.
05/13 - Tuesday Presidents' Council -Final Presidents Council meeting of the year--attendance is mandatory!
05/15 - Thursday DAUGHTERS OF THE PIONEERS SCHOLARSHIP -If your family has been in the state of Washington, Oregon, Idaho or Montana since the 1850's, 1860's or 1870's you may qualify for the Daughters of the Pioneers scholarship. The deadline is May 15. See Mrs. Ruecker for an application.
05/21 - Wednesday Battle of the Bands Auditions -Sign up for the Battle of the Bands competition in room P-2! All band members must be present during auditions to compete on Friday.
05/22 - Thursday Legislative Assembly Meeting -Monthly meeting of homeroom representatives in the Commons during 2nd period.
05/23 - Friday Battle of the Bands -Annual competition between Wa-Hi bands, held outdoors on the Commons lawn if weather permits.

05/08 - Thursday Battle of the Bands -Attention all rock stars! It's time for the annual Battle of the Bands competition! Auditions will be held on Wednesday, May 21st, and the battle will be held on Friday, May 23rd. Sign up in room P-2 if you're interested!
05/08 - Thursday Air Force in Commons Thursday -Sgt. Patterson, the Air Force Recruiter will be in the Commons during all lunches. This is a chance to talk to him if you have any questions or interest in the Air Force.
05/08 - Thursday GERMANS ARE COMING -The Germans are coming! The Germans are coming! That's right. This Thursday night we pick up our guests from the Pasco airport. You'll get to meet them here on campus next week. When you do, make sure to give them a warm welcome. A smile, a handshake, a "glad you're here!", etc. You'll meet some German students in your classes as they visit with their host brothers or sisters. You'll meet others when they come and give a presentation in your class. You'll meet others in the commons when you strike up a conversation at lunch time. Just be your friendly self. They'll like it. And so will you. DANKE!

This is a partial list of activities. May 10th - Food Bank, Baloon Stampede, - May 17th, Ducky Derby, Disaster Simulation, Ride for Life. If you want more info come to the Career Information Center.

Plan assemblies, Big Blue Weekend, dances, and whatever else you think will make Wa-Hi a better place! See Mrs. DeBritz in P-2 with questions, or to pick up an application. Forms are due THURSDAY!
05/08 - Thursday Jobs -The Career Center is starting to get postings for summer jobs. If you need a job you might want to stop by and see what's up. So far we have received postings from KMart, Sears, Sykes, Smith Frozen Foods, Whitman Mission and Blue Mountain Action Council.
05/08 - Thursday LATINO CLUB -Meeting today in room V2 after school. We need to talk about Balloon Stampede this week end. We need to have as many members as possible help with this project, so show up for this meeting.

05/07 - Wednesday Film Festival -Don't forget that TONIGHT is the 3rd annual Wa-Hi Film Festival!!! Awards will be given for the best films in several categories, and you don't want to miss it! Weather permitting, the festival will be held outdoors, on the grass outside of the wrestling room. Admission is free and snacks are welcome. Bring your friends to the Film Festival tonight at 7:08 pm!!!

05/06 - Tuesday BLOOD DONORS -One donation can help save the lives of up to 3 people. The American Red Cross supplies approximately 45% of the nation's blood supply. Wa-Hi Blood Drive is today in the Small Gym from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Please remember your signed permission form and photo ID. Please be on time for your appointment. You need to eat Lunch if your donation time is in the afternoon.
05/05 - Monday Be A Disaster Victim!! -The Emergency Management Team is going to have a disaster simulation on May 17th and they need victims. You will be broken, scraped, cut, bruised and knocked out - all for fun!!If you would like to be part of this great exciting and fun event, come to the Career Center to pick up the paperwork.f

04/30 - Wednesday BLOOD DRIVE -Every two seconds someone in the U.S. needs blood. More than 38,000 blood donations are needed every day. One out of every 10 people admitted in a hospital needs blood. Total blood transfusions in a given year: 14 million. All Blood Drive donation times have been filled--thank you for your overwhelming support! We had more people sign-up than there were donation times for on May 6th at the Blood Drive. Blood Drive passes will be sent to your Homeroom teachers on Monday, May 5th. Again, we didn't have a time slot for everyone, but thank you for your support!

04/25 - Friday NHS Service Project -NHS will be starting our last service project of the year, which is going on now until May 6th. For more information go see Mrs.Peddicord in room A-22. Seniors, in order to wear your cords at graduation you must have 10 service hours. This is a great opportunity to get those! The next meeting is Tuesday, May 16 in the Commons.

04/25 - Friday Day of Silence -Several students on campus today are participating in a nation-wide youth movement called Day of Silence in protest of bullying and harassment against gay, lesbian, bisexual & transgender people and their allies. They are replicating the silence that GLBT youth live in when they are not able to voice their opinions freely for fear of harassment and violence. This year's Day of Silence is held in memory of Lawrence King, a fifteen year old student who was killed in school earlier this year because of his sexual orientation. Help us end the silence!
04/25 - Friday Yearbook Sales Continue -Yearbooks are selling fast! Get your today before they are sold out. $55 in the ASB Office. Can't remember if you purchased a Yearbook? Check the lists posted in the Commons and by room A9. If you see your name, you bought one--if you don't see your name, go buy one!
