About the sport: The Blue Devil Boy's basketball team is one of the most successful high school athletic programs in Washington State. Throughout the 20th century and into the 21st century the boy's basketball teams have participated in district, regional, and state playoffs. Most recently the Blue Devil's won the state championship in 1999 and made trips to the state tournament in 2003, 2004, and 2009. Last year the Blue Devil won the District Championship and finished second in regionals earning coach John Golden and his boys a state tournament appearance. The 2009-2010 team returns 3 starters, two of which are recipients of Division I basketball scholarships to the University of Idaho and the University of Montana. Along with a strong supporting cast of seniors and promising juniors, the Blue Devils are looking forward to returning to the Tacoma Dome and the 4A state championships the first week in March.

Coaches Comment: I am so happy for these guys to be making the trip to the 4A state championships in Tacoma next week. They have logged a lot of hours playing basketball over the last year. They really deserve the chance to try and win a state championship. I would also like to give a big shout out to our student and community fan support this year. It has been the best I have ever seen. More than once this winter our gym was almost filled to capacity. Our players and coaching staff really appreciate the enthusiasm everyone has shown in support of our basketball team.

Sport News: On to state!! Congratulations to the Wa-Hi boys basketball team for their inspiring win over Kamiakin at the regional tournament at the Toyota center in Kennewick on Saturday afternoon(Feb.28). It's back to Tacoma for a second straight year. This time the Devils plan to come home with some hardware!!
